I guess at this point, I might as well make the month of March 2020, Kim Jung Hyun month.
So obviously I watched this knowing he would have to leave at a point, and I knew it would be really sad, but don’t I love to do stuff like that to myself.
Synopsis: A man who is in the face of death does everything he can in his last days to help a woman whose life he ruined.

This is definitely not a typical romance k-drama if that’s what your looking for. While watching this, I wasn’t exactly in the best mental state, and it didn’t help. I’m not saying it’s bad, not at all, just know what your getting into first.
Kim Jung Hyun killed this role, like I expected him to do, and the fact that he was going through so much, while playing such a character amazes me. I can imagine playing such a depressing role didn’t make it better for him, but he took it all so well. Sometimes I would tear up at some of his scenes, just because of how well he embodied the role, he might’ve left a bit early, but he definitely did his part, and he did it perfectly, I hope to see him in more projects, and gain more recognition.
Seohyun also played her role well, it felt like I was watching a real person go through all the things she went through, the character she played was truly inspiring. After Jung Hyun left, the show went on smoothly, and I believe it is all owed to her. She's a really good actress.
The supporting characters also did a good job.
The scenes leading up to soo-ho's death really got to me. The fact that he was trying so hard to do things for her, like get her to eat with him, despite the fact that he was literally dying, was so heartbreaking, especially because he kept on getting rejected. The scene where his sight was going bad and he was trying so well to make good looking food for her, and then she just rejected him, that scene ladies and gentlemen, broke me. I'm just glad he died hearing some really kind words from her, and that he got to do everything on his list.
The soundtrack, especially Time by Gaho, was perfect for this show.
Now for some critique...
I don’t understand why lawyer shin did all that for Eun Chae A, I know he explained it, but it still makes no sense to cover up for the person that killed your girlfriend’s sister, especially when it’s someone you barely know, I wish there was more depth to his reasons.
I know it’s supposed to be a dark drama, but I wished we got more scenes of soo ho and ji Hyun together, without the intensity of everything, but I know it’s too much to ask, it’s hard to ignore the fact that he was involved in her sister’s death, which leads me to the third issue I had...
I sometimes wonder how the show would’ve ended if Jung Hyun didn’t leave. Even though he did try his best to help her, from an unbiased standpoint, I see it as a relationship that would always have that tragedy, which means they would never truly be happy. How do you ignore such a thing, I know time heals, but it’s not something you forget.
Overall, it was a good show, the actors portrayed the emotions really well, and I think the show is quite underrated.
*drum roll*
Rating: 8.9/10
